As you probably know,we can edit the map now,so I have got an idea of a mod inspired by LotR,DnD,TES, as well as mythology and fairy tales.
Sliders:
Democratic-Authoritarian:Good-Evil
Left-Right:Chaos-Order
Free Market-Central Planning:Technology-Magic

I guess the others can remain as they are,tell me if you have suggestions.
Nations:
various human states
various dwarven states
various orcish states
various elven states
various gnomish states
various halfling states
The undead
Some kind of demons
Bandits (a large,strong and powerful gang that is battling the authorities of certain countries)

Who is willing to work on this mod?I am in need of gfx modders and people who know how to edit the map at most for now (you don't want to have the orcs that use the German tank sprites and WW2 icons rampaging in Europe,do you?)
Also,I will need someone who will work on the storyline together with me.
Any ideas?

This is an interesting concept and I think as long as you keep it strictly as a generic fantasy situation it could work. What you should do is just jump right in and transform everything to the fantasy system first, then worry about the background story/starting territory etc.

Conscript infantry or regular infantry (INF)
Light infantry - faster with more soft but less hard attack (MOT)
Heavy infantry (MEC) - faster than conscript but slower than light with more hard attack and less soft
Elite gaurds (ARM) - Good speed, well rounded stats, expensive
Cavalry (CAV) - just expand the models for cavalry

Air should be extremely expensive and only affordable to major empires. You may want to scrap either INT or FTR as there is too much air for it all to be converted sensibly imo. Make the air superiority unit a squad of Griffon riders (good), if you keep both make the other Wyvern riders (evil). You could make it so that each kingdom may only choose one type of mount, the other would be deactivated, each with their own advantage. Make TAC/CAS Dragon riders/Dracolich riders, again you could separate between good and evil.

Transport planes should be scrapped completely I don't think there's any good way to go about them. STR could be some sort of additional Dragon unit, maybe a 'Greater Dragon Fleet' or something, not riders but loyal Dragon fighters. It may be hard to make the sprites look right, but it's not impossible!

maybe the concept used when panzer general was reworked to fantasy general can be used here. and what about magic user units? maybe some can be used instead of brigades. or maybe some kind of heroes would make a good brigade. adding attack and org. rating. or mythical units like in age of mythology?

Maybe you could try something different that may be more adapted to HOI mechanics you cannot change instead of sticking on the classical Orcs-Elves-Human scheme. What about the player begin a mage that summon creatures and command armies ? this could explain the variety of air units for example and also why conflicts are that massive that they require the same engine used to portray WW2.

Any suggestions for naming ideologies?I thought about having the DnD alignments,but that could get messy,so if anyone has ideas.
Also,anyone willing to work on this with me?

Throwing these out there:

NS = Evil Kingdom
FA = Kingdom
PA = Lordship
SC = Conservative Republic
ML = Neutral Republic
SL = Liberal Republic
SD = Free Republic
LWR = Commune
LE = Council State
ST = Reformist State

You see,I think that wont go,for two reasons:
1.As I already said,it will be Good-Evil and Chaos-Order,so a lot of kingdoms that would fight for the good side would be considered evil,and you see,Reformist state isn't really a name for an chaotic ideology...
2.Have in mind that I want the ideologies to be similar to the vanilla ones,as they are used for the ideology of the ministers as well,and you cant say that a minister is a kingdom...

The suggestion wasn't intended to follow those sliders necessarily

Try these:

NS = Demonic Lawful Evil
FA = Absolute Lawful Evil
PA = Lawful Evil

SC = Neutral Evil
ML = Neutral
SL = Common Good
SD = Neutral Good

LWR = Chaotic Evil
LE = Absolute Chaotic Evil
ST = Demonic Chaotic Evil

I'm not sure how fantastic you're looking to get, but the oil resource could be transforming into something like Mana, which would 'power' 'magical' units.

Thats a good idea.However,I need to know something:are there any hardcoded differences between the various unit types (like INF and ARM).

No, only the fact that Paratroopers are the only units that can be paradropped.

By the way, I once worked on some kind of fantasy-mod, and I used the hard-attack/soft-attack values to simulate Magic and Physical attacks.
With this I could create units like Ghosts, practically immune to physical damage but easy to kill with Magic.

Maybe you should think about taking this feature into the mod?

This too a good idea.The ghosts will be the special units of the undead (they will all be called special units and use the same models,but will have different gfx,icons and stats)
However,there is one problem with the oil:What do you think should replace energy then,that would be reasnoable to convert to the new magical resource?

I hope you find this map useful

But seriously, I would like you make ghost, orcish etc. nations for one territory, but make lots of them. I mean, for example, whole south Africa for orcs, but not some kind of huge nation, but small nations... :p

I think, we should not use names from LotR, it is silly.
Also, dwarfs should be somethere in Scandinavia not "cavalary-people" Rohan.
BTW, it must be many small kingdoms of dwarfes in mountain areas (we can change geography in any way ;) ) Dwarfes kindoms are very hard tp conquer, but almost have no ability to wide expantion.
