Can I play EU head-to-head via a 'null modem cable'. Or are you limited to dialup connection and the Internet?

If you have a windows network hooked up you can play.

Ie two machines with 2 network cards connected with a network cable.

I thought that from Windows 95 and onward a regular network connection was emulated when using a null-modem cable or parallell cable.

I never got the chance to try this as my Win95 version is Swedish, and the cable link drivers are broken in the Swedish version.

However, I doubt that the bandwidth of a null-modem cable is even remotely sufficient.

I can't see why the bandwidth shouldn't be enough - it is not like you are sending images, only info on troop movements, battles etc. That takes up hardly any bandwidth.

All I know is that on the back of the box, they claim 500kbps.

Parallell cable/null-modem is... 112kbps?

That is most probably a worst case senario, 8 person MP at really high speed. People have been playing (the rumor sais) 6-7 (?) on modemconnections with some success.
