There is a serious bug in the release-version of DV, you might have noticed it by people from all over the map asking to become your vassal. Or you most likely see many Russian orthodox princes being vassals of the Byzantine Empire after a few decades. This is the 'relationship' bug, which is fixed in the beta-patches.
To fully profit from a new patch, it is always adviced to start new games with it,
