February Crash?

What is the most likely cause of a crash on February 1st (i.e. one month after game start) if I've only really modified the scenario file and the country files?

Additionally: when a country file clearly exists, but the game is "unable to load" is, what happened? So far only happened with the tags KUR and ALT

That would be either a nation that doesn't exist anymore but got mechants in a COT. Or it could be you used NAT, PIR, REB or MER as nation tags.
