I've seen tales span Victoria, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis. Read of England expanding to the greatest Empire ever. Seen the CSA fall time and time again, one time succeding but it didn't pan out. The United States become Facist, Communist, break up, spread out, and even be nuked back to the stone age.
Soon Wallachia will end, and my commie Germany AAR has more to go but I plan to spread that out for a while. But I have a plan, an evil wicked plan.
It has already formed in my mind, and I am researching characters and such. But I fell the need to share my tale.............
PROLOUGE
It fell from the sky and hit the earth. No great force came from the impact, but a strange glowing object remained. Maximus Colluos discovered it on his farm. It was large and made of some metal, but it gave off a faint light. He touched the objects rough edges. The moment he did his hand was pushed back by some unknown force. He studied it for days, each time amazed at the force coming from it. On the eighth day Colluos pushed a small hand cart into the carter. Seconds later the cart flew high into the air and crashed down like the hand of some god throw it into the air.
Using the wealth he had, and hiding his actions from his father and mother, he purchased more and more things to try out on this metal. He called it Marious, after the god of war. One attempt involed using a small wooden box and placing a rock at the end. Tapping Marious lighting and invisble force pushed through the box breaking it, but it also hit the rock.
Sitting down, Calluos thought what to do next. He ordered the local smith to make him a long stretch of pipe. With it in hand he learn that the force from Marious could be pushed through an object, and therefore be directed at something. After testing it for weeks, he finally knew how to use Marious. Ordering a dozen more pipes and postioning them along the fields he waited till the farming season to start. His father ordered it plowed and ready. He naturally assumed his son would order the workers and slaves to do it. But with one strong hit to Marious the field was halfway plowed. The pipes flying into the air like the Hydra monster.
Of course his father learned of the object from the sky that day. Roman authorities learned of it days later. Marious was taken along with Calluos to Rome. The legions used a massive wagon to move the rock, but how they touch Marious is what amazed Callous. Using strange gold colored gloves thye easily tocuhed the rock, and using ropes covered in the same gold they pulled the rock out.
In the months that followed Callous was allowed to meet the Emperor Nero. Nero was an odd man, kissing a slave boy halfway through the conversation. The Generals took interest in how he used pipes to work Marious. Of course Callous took more interest in the center of the Roman Empire then what the army wanted to use a rock for.
During an Imperial gathering Callous stood side by side with the elite of Rome. By the famed bathouse stood a massive scaffolding within it held a bronze statue of a Roman soldier. Callous stared at it for a moment, wondering why it had joints, and massive screws attached to it. Then it moved, fast. Incrediably fast. Its arms and legs flailing about wildly without any sense of control. The guests looked out and were shocked, some clapped to drunk to understand what was occuring. Callous did not know what was going on himself.
Emperor Nero walked out and looked out at the monstrous statue move about its right arm flying into the city below. Small fires started around Rome. Nero stood atop his balcony, his fingers running nimbly over the harp strings. Behind him the city was alight with the flames. But the Emperor did not care, the second movement was coming up and no silly fire was going to distract him. Calluos sat close by watching Rome burn. He dare not move, the Emperor was mad for sure. But the Palace was the only place to remain safe.
When the statue finally stopped, the legions of Rome quickly dismantled what they could. Callous saw his discovery carted off, people spoke of it being taken north near the Germanic tribes, or the Franks.
