I've read thread with such a title concerning vanilla stats. I was wondering if the same applies also to CORE mod? Haven't checked stats myself so can someone with the know-how indulge me on this topic?

This is what it was concluded on that thread - does it also apply to CORE?

Taken into account an air-to-air capabilities and cost figures one can say that as interceptors have the same regular airattack value and org as comparable fighters, but at the same time higher airdefence and bonus against bombers, they will suffer lower damage than fighters in encounters. This increases interceptors' operational time (meaning lower investments per flying hour) and decreases resources needed for repairing expensive air units.

Conclusion would be that, in general, interceptors are better planes than fighters carrying out Air Superiority mission, but due to range issues, if you can afford, you could build some fighters as well (especially as both unit types share a common Air Doctrine tree).

I often play Germany and most of the time I have a mixed force of INT and Fighter, but I usually prefer fighters over int.
Fighters cost more, initialy start with lower stats than their int counterpart but seem to get better stats faster than int.

'Seem' is the point here.

Interceptors are useful for small-area countries, like the UK - in the initial stage after France has fallen, especially. I never build them when I'm playing a larger nation, however, and all of my foreign forces are fighters - the interceptors are for home defence only.
