I played as USSR.
1. Very few events. Even Argentina and such have more events, i feel.
2. "Unknown string wanted" for some technologies and events.
3. Options (music volume, events messages etc) doesnt saves, starting game again one have to set them again... Never had such a problem with mods.
4. Bullshit equipment models names and pictures. What does mean "Celere '35" (Cav-7) with helicopter pic (i belive Mi-2)? "Celere" not a russian word nor an english, i think.
5. Most pics just shocking... La-5 and I-16 have a pic with Yak-7(?), Mig-3 with La-7  T-34 dont good enough to have icon? If you dont have a time/resourses for making pics, maybe better not to include them at all?
6. Mil '38 have erroruos soft attack.
7. The way you chosen making "Peace time ICs" not the best, i think... Germany have about 250 "fighting" with England for more than 3 years and USSR with 140... It forces to declare war to some minor, occupy it and not annex.
8. AI. It look a bit brain-damaged. 1941. Germany annexed France, Italy wiped out english forces from Egypt. Looks like Axis are quite strong, sure? And what i see in statistics: 100 inf, 15 mot, 3(!!!) Arm. I have about 20 Arm divs. I wonder, for what they spend 250 ICs? Okay, 22 june. Nothing happens. Okay, i waited up to august 1942. No DOW, no german army grows. My patience ended, i had DOW. AND WHAT I SEE!!!! My 25 T-34 have to fight 3 T-II! Infantry are '35! AND NO AVIATION AT ALL!
.........
Guys. Are this mod NOT disigned to play as USSR? Nazi-exclusive?
I liked core for HOI-1 so much...

1. events have not been a priority and will be added as we progress with new releases.

2. this is being looked at and is fixed for most if not all occurances.

3. This issue has been fixed for next release.

4. Celere is italian definition for cavalry. you dont try and translate UK spitfire into russian either :)

5. pictures will be corrected in a seperate gfx pack in a short while.

6. This is being looked into

7. The mobilisation events including peace time ic is going to get more balanced when the starting units are removed and made dormant and then reactivated through the mobilisation events. Have patience please.

8. 1.3 ai is not yet included so what you see is the default HoI2 ai unmoddified by ai files.

It will get much better dont worry. It was never said it would be complete on first release.

Thanks for reply! I know, it will get better (maybe best :).
But i'm just a bit disapointed, what exactly took so much time

Real Life
HoI2 Beta
Tech Trees
Graphics (will be out soon, but have been completed, mainly a bandwidth issue)
etc...

You haven't actually seen the process, which is very drawn out, long, requiring a lot of revisions, discussion, etc. This stuff takes a lot of time. Sorry it didn't meet your expectations.

And what does an italian definition do in USSR? ;)
Isn't germany's CAV-7 called Licht (light) ?, so why does the russian have an italian name for it? Just curious. ;)

btw: Celere means "fast" and the italian celeri divisions were sort of semi-motorized cavalry. (Just a general comment, not specifically pointed at you Ghost_dk.)

Well I'd like to say that when I saw those tech trees, model changes and events (been poking around a bit i the files too, looking and inspecting ;) ), I must say that I understand way this release has taken some time. :p I think it's a helluva job you guys have done here. :)

Although I might not agree with *everything* you've done, what struck me most is the feeling of WW2, can't exactly point it out but this depression stuff, rebuilding techs, changed units...I like it..as I said: it gives me a real good "world war two feeling" and that's worth a lot if you ask me, great job overall. :)

I image just brainstorming in general is what took the longest. Thinking of the things that would make it the best, they had to balance it to where one power wasn't overly or underly handicapped.

While I'm sure they accept constructive critisism, I'm sure your not meaning to sound overly critical but you are coming across that way.

Not only did they have to learn the way the new HOI2 engine worked, mind you its different from HoI1, they had to tweak it and even though they spent many hours working on it, they are STILL working to perfect it. I took a like in the Event file for ITA to find one event and change the date. Just figuring out what and where and how to do that for me, as simple as that task may seem for others, took me pretty much all day. It terrifies me to even begin to think of REWORKING all of that and bieng uncertian of the outcome to the final product.

Give the guys alittle credit, this kind of mod wasn't a copy paste and save ordeal they also had to do homework :p making sure they got all the events HISTORICALLY correct. Completly rebuilding the tech tree and Naval Combat. That alone must have taken a consideral amount of time.

If that doens't convince you of the time it might have taken, just say so, and I'll comb over the mod some more and point other things out for you.

On the other hand, I would like to thank the CORE guys for the time they spent on this mod, while it itsn't perfect YET, I'm sure that with a group as intelligent and determined as you fine people are, it will take no time at all to perfect this. I just wish I could offer more than a shake of the hand and a pat on the back.

Oh and one last thought, can't wait till you release the new graphics mod! Good Luck to you gents.

Acutally, it should be "leicht". "Licht" in english is also light, but means the stuff coming from lamps... ;)

"leichte Kavallerie" means "light cavalry".

I can't see that in the mod. All the buttons in the infantry tech and the air doctrines tech field are blank. I don't know if this is a bug or due to the non-english version of my game, but I just wanted to say it.

its the non-english version. Open your settings.cfg and change the language to english.

What would happen if i copied the 1.3b ai files into the C.O.R.E. folder?
Would that solve the problem?
Edit:
I just saw in the changelog:
- increased FM command limit
- revised air command limits
- increased air stack limit
With me they are still the same as in vanilla HoI 1.3b...

Absolutely correct, it's Leichte. :eek:o

Germany had four such Leichte Divisionen (not to be confused with the "leichte infanterie divisionen") at the outbreak of ww2 but after the Poland campaign they were converted to Panzer Divisionen. IIRC they where similiar to the Italian "Celeri" divisions.
