The event does end, if you keep clicking it you eventually get back to the beginning.
The problem is events do not really support scrolling lists to only show certain options, the method for the execution decision is quite a pain in itself and redoing that event would take quite a while and probably not be worth it. I agree that it is annoying so I will see if I can quickly do it for an upcoming version but no promises
