I've been playing the mod for years now, but the one thing that really holds it back, in my opinion, is the lack of falvor when it comes to races, big titles or charcters. The only real difference is between playing a mortal or immortal character and immortal is just boring, since it basically eliminates the whole succession gameplay. Every charcter, every kingdom, every race pretty much feels the same.
I'd love to see a day when playing a dwarf, elf or skaven feels different from playing an imperial or kislevite.

Tbh I like playing as an immortal character because it changes the gameplay and makes the mod unique, not just a different map with a few new events
