Hi Paradox!

Long time fanboy to your historic map games, since I was a kid playing EUI, not understanding anything and ruining Norway. Today I have played all of the EU games, and CK games, the latest, CK2, I have over 2000 hours on steam(It's not bragging, I am just addicted, dont do drugs kids).

CK2 blew my mind, I have countless times made the North Sea Empire with Norway, restored the Roman Empire(Im what you call a Byzantophile, or Roman History lover in general), and I tried sometimes to create Portugal among many other things. What it looks like you are doing with CK3 is hyping me up, I love the scope and ambition. I love the granularity and as an artist, I love your artwork(Backgrounds especially, characters needs less plastic clothing).

SO, to the point!
The background artwork, they are looking great. Clap on shoulder to that artist.
But as I have grown acustomed to all the DLC's from CK2 I am hoping for granularity to the art and characters too, and in this post im proposing the background work.
I hope the Scandinavian courts have their own background, and hopefully that can translate accross the board.
Iberia, Italy, Britain & ireland, France-Burgundy, Holy Roman Empire, Byzantine etc have their own court art. Maybe not at launch, but eventually.
And if I may be ambitous and greedy, I would love to see the upgradable courts. If a player spends money on the courtroom for guests etc(affording it) the background art also gets a little facelift. It could be a three step tree, which also costs money to maintain, so downgrading it is also viable.

PS: I hope the Byzantines get their unique artwork especially, yes I love them, hope to see an ancient bust or statue on the background, and typical Byzantine arches xD

Anyways, cant wait for the game!

Thoughts?
(Game mechanics of course is priority, this is just a wish)

oh! oh! oh!

ruined rooms!

a room under construction!

all the best finery and tapestries up for feasts and coronatons!

there's no end to the possibilities...

Want my personal opinion? I'd love character/environment customization, from armors, weapons, clothes, inventory items, to downright "make your own castle/build your estate/personalize throne room. Now, I don't think we may see the last ones, but for the first... My theory is, considering that portrait packs will obviously not be in the game, we may see them replaced by "Unique cultural/religious Outfit packs". I can already see a "Byzantine Apparel DLC" in the making, while "Mongol Horde Apparel DLC" will probably accompany the inevitable update that will bring back nomads. Granted, it will probably hurt our wallets, but if they want to monetize, using the 3D characters to their fullest extent may be the most direct way.

I want all of that...Yes xD

Clothes and crowns/coronets are my main wishes. I want to see Cote Hardies and Houplandes, and ermine mantles, and all the beautiful things that made the Middle Ages so gorgeous!

Id also love to see your faction and dynasty banner in the background, hanging on the walls behind your throne. Also, the council could become an actual table with characters sitting around it, kinda like the table they show in Game of Thrones(Just using the show for visual example)

I actually asked this question about backgrounds on the Q/A on discord yesterday and the answer was in some situation it will. However I think the game only have like 5 cloth Groups (don't remember the Groups) so it may not have the variety you ask for.

Mods, mods everywhere

So DLC's again? Because I would love them byzantine clothes, or Norse or... I would love the diversity yes xD

I'll openly admit that Paradox will be able to drain money from me pretty successfully for all kinds of art packs. It will be too difficult to resist with these 3D models, so many possibilities.

They are only historical accurate if they are historical accurate.
I know i know, it's either a fact or not, there is no "kinda facts", but there are half truths. Some cultures could be spot on, others could be inaccurate.
Anyways, dont take everything I say literally.

I can only hope we could get culturally different rooms and buildings. I think one set of rooms for every graphical culture would be enough (maybe expanded with future DLCs along with clothing).

If I recall correctly, there will be (Western) European, Muslim, African, Steppe and Indian groups. I'll miss the detail CK2 has right now, but it's a huge step considering how limited was the game in that aspect back when it was released in 2012. By the other hand, I think they said with the new 3d portraits they could portray pretty much every "ethnicity" right now, so I hope future packs could focus more on clothing/headgear and hairstyles instead of actually making the faces from scratch like in CK2.

Byzantine clothing and architecture stands out from the rest, I hope to see one for them too. Just google it, it's unique, and many westerners imported their garbs for example.

But yes, thats probably what they give us at the start, game mechanics are looking sweet!
