Summary

Focus "Topple Amhara Rulers" doesn't make the Amhara generals leaders of their countries

Platform

Steam

Operating System

Windows 11

Game Version

Countenance v1.16.4.3b29 (639e) (S)

Enabled DLC

  • All of the above

Do you have mods enabled?

No

Description

The focus "Topple Amhara Rulers" is supposed to make the generals you make deals with leaders of the territories they own. In this case, it doesn't happen, the puppet nations are ruled by generic leaders. Tried to check Ethiopia's tag, and those generals are nowhere to be found.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Play as Italy in 1936;
2. Get the event about the stall on the somali front;
3. Capitulate Ethiopia (but technically still be at war with them);
4. Do the "Topple Amhara Rulers" focus;
5. Always choose the second option in the event chain.

Are you playing on a save from the previous/older version of the game

No

Indeed, that is an outstanding bug I runned into myself when playing Ethiopia after the BBA release. So far it hasn't received an official confirmation, despite multiple reports about it existing, e.g. here (including a post of me linking three others):
