The Improvement Pack, SMACK and BOPACK can be used together.

I am not sure about Gigau's MOD compatibility with SMACK and BOPACK

But all 3 event-mods can be used, seperately with the Improvement Pack.

So for sure are
IP+SMACK
IP+BOPACK
IP+SMACK+BOPACK
IP+Gigau

I had tried digging up for an old(not so old) mod for 1.05 but no luck.
I can't remember the exact name, but it's something like "Many duchies, no kingdoms". It's a mod that has removed all starting kingdoms. There is also a variation of this mod that break even the duchies up into counties where everyone starts as a count.

Can the great linkmaster Veldmaarschalk show me the light?

I had sacrificed a few dozen sheeps in your honour on the behalf all lazy ckers.
Thanks so much, really appreciated it. In my opinion, Paradox should really consider awarding you godhood for services to CK.

Veld's support indeed is worth a lot! Always eager and ready to help, not to mention his accuracy, of course!

:D Yeah I am good !

Here you find my TASS mod for vanilla CK (you asked it in another thread)
Thanks also from my side, Veld. Question: is TASS compatible with vanilla Improvement Pack?
Thanks, HN

Ehm ... I'm really confused. After years of playing vanilla 1.05, what mod should I install to get new "passion" with this game (and in the long term write my first CK-AAR)?

A. Improvement Pack
B. Gigau's mod
C. TASS
D. A working combination of the above (please suggest)

Let's put this way. I would like firstly of all to avoid too much unhistorical outcomes (Mongols in Iberia and England, Scotts with huge lands around Baghdad, things like those ... I will restrain myself from huge conquests!) and secondly have much more "flavour" to role-play with the AAR. Finally, I believe when you become king, vassals declaring independence out of the blue (I mean with good loyalty and no realm duress, low scutage) shouldn't be so frequent as in vanilla 1.05.

I'm asking too much??? :D Thanks all for your advise!

Thanks for this. What about the AAR-related issues: which of the three mods can solve them (flavour and plausible evolution)?

On the issue of "historicity", maybe I can expand the concept: I'm not generally against extraordinary outcomes, break-up of big kingdoms, etc.

I suspect that as the Hohenstaufens managed to take over Norman Sicily or England was on the verge to unify English and French crowns at some point during the Hundred Years War, a game could not exclude for instance a unification of Aragon with France or a Venetian conquest of Byzantium.

What I don't like is constant fragmentation of states, the Mongols uber-power, Muslim consistently reconquering Iberia, Italy and the "Sheikdom of Prague effect" (Muslim in the middle of Northern Europe).
