Can any body explain:

How many levels you can build a fortress up to?
How many men can they garrison per level?
What seige times are associated per fortress level (how long it takes an attacking army to win - without assaulting?

Also - how does garrisoning work? If you have no troops in the city, do you still have a garrison force in the fortress regardless?

Sorry for all the questions, I've been playing for a week now and am just beginning to create fortresses and would like some advice (Fantasia senario). It will take me too long to look in the manual (and I probably wouldn't find the answer after all).

Thanks in advance. This game easily takes on Civ II and MOO II!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not an expert, but this is what I gathered:

Garrison is automatic. You do not need troops in, I guess is constituted of militia and such.

It's 5000 men per level. So far I was able to go to level 2 (I've only played until 1534).

Siege time depends on your siege army. The more artillery you have, the shorter the siege time. You can also assult the fortress if you're tired of waiting.

I hope this helps

Q*Bert was an awesome game. :)

and mr. griffon is correct on all points.

Depends on the size of the city.

This depends very much on leaders, artillery etc. Hard to give any numbers since there are som many factors involved.
