I've been suffering freezes every few years now in a campaign started with 1.03b. I've tried all the usual suggestions (renaming AVI, disabling hardware acceleration, even going back to generic SVGA and bypassing the NVIDIA card altogether. I have the current drivers and version of DirectX 9.0b.) The reason why I think that this might be a bug is that it doesn't happen (at least through twenty years) on a new game started with the 1066 scenario. I understand about the corrupt save game (which I had before) with the bad ids, but it doesn't look like this is the case.
