Freeze when choosing a save game

Hello all.

I'm not very skilled when it comes to computers so I hope theres someone here who can help.
I recently bought Crusader Kings, and I think its a very good game. The problem is that when I trie to load a game, it simply freeze and I have to turn of the power to get my computer restarted!
Does anyone have a clue about how I can fix this?

Do you have the problem with all saved games or with one saved game?

Some Crusader Kings saved games, especially with older patches, get corrupt and cannot be loaded any more.
