FTL DropShips?!

Yeah, I think there's a bit of a lore error here...

Well, the long answer is that there's two types of space travel: travel by DropShips like ours, and travel by JumpShips.

DropShips use faster-than-light travel to move from a planetary system to a jump point. Although it's FTL, travel to and from a jump point takes the most of our travel time--sometimes weeks.

I'm pretty sure I'd have heard if there was a retcon this major...

Don't remember anymore why i didn't made my own Thread for this discovery but, yeah i'm with you on this:

Hm accelerating with 1g for a few days then turning mid flight and deaccelearting with 1g till Jumpship/Destination shouldn't get you faster than light?
Or in short i never read of Dropships flying FTL. Only the Jumpships with the Insta Jump. So typo i guess.

I thought a JumpShip could nearly Insta Jump / Spinning up it's KF-Drive? Only if the Capacitor Banks were empty it had to unfold it's Solar Sails and reload them over a few days depending on the
Type of Star in the System it's in?

P.S.: And with a max JumpRange of ~30LY?
P.P.S.:Maybe there had been so many changes in the Translation from original to the German Versions of all the Manuals and ReadOuts i possesd back in the day.
