Hey guys, I got a mildly odd bug. I did a cursory search of this forum and didn't find anything, so hopefully someone can help me.

Playing in the Stepstones, the culture of The Skulls is set to Wildling, which is weird enough; but thanks to the Wildling revolt mechanics, as Pirate King I can't interfere when a Wildling uprising attacks and overwhelms my vassal in The Skulls.

I've looked in the various landed_title files hoping to change the culture manually, but can't find a place to do that. Likewise, the console command for shifting a province's culture doesn't seem to work anymore.

It's hardly a game breaker, given that I can just switch over to the count of the Skulls and give him some cash, hire some Mercs, and let him go nuts. But it is odd.

You can't change province culture with any of the landed_titles files as far as I know. You have to go to history, and find the respective province you want to change there. Of course this change will only apply for new games, and not change the culture in any of your current games.

I would recommend to instead manually edit your savegame (taking a backup first maybe a good idea as a precaution).

Just search for name="The Skulls" in your savegame, and you should find the respective province (361).
From there you can change the culture from culture=wildling to for example culture=high_valyrian .

This problem stems from the fact random pirate mutineers are of random cultures and use the peasant revolt CB, which in turn converts the target province on victory. This has been fixed for th next update.
