Simply asking out of all three crisis paths why can't Wilderness be the most basic of them. It doesn't really have anything crazy attached to it, seems like a fair ask. In a game where you choose your story it seems that this is the least invasive of the crisis paths and even if Wilderness is getting behemoth fury one day when they have time to see if they can make it work nemesis still seems like the basic choice that nearly any type of empire should be able to choose.
 
It would be quite odd for an entirely nature based have that uses metal and technology in incredibly limited amounts to build a metal Dyson sphere.
However, with that logic, they shouldn’t be allowed to take cosmogenesis.
So I agree with you, let wilderness have all the paths.
