Could be but surely Ludi would upload content as soon as it releases? But he said instead that he'd be gone for a few weeks. Unless we take him to his word literally and he actually has personal stuff going on and he didnt mean just the weekend event, then it might be announced next week and then Ludi would come back a couple weeks after to catch up?
I really hope they announce soon not gonna lie. I think the announcement allows them to show a lot more about the game and hopefully Dev Clashes, AARs etc will start shortly after and we can actually see what the game looks like in action. After V3 im never trusting a game again that does not show any gameplay footage. V3 didn't and we know now why... So I really hope EU5 doesnt do the same or I'll get really worried.

they said in tinto talks #1 that it would be a shorter release, so about 6 months probably. they want the summer months off, so after the summer break it'll be released, most likely sept or oct with an announcement in april/may

Announce or not, I don't care. Release or not, I don't care. The best option is the one that gets them out of this "ooh we can't say anything about EU4 so we won't say anything about EU5" bs and gets them back to making patches for EU4. If they released today, it would take a lot of time with bugfixes before the game is really playable. If they wait until it's properly done, that's also a lot of time. So whenever they release, there's still lots of room for EU4.

Well the whole point of these talks according to Johan was to release "diaries" much earlier in the development process. So there was still time to implement feedback at a core level if needed before design choices were more baked in and interconnected.
Having a dialogue opened with us 8-12 months earlier into development than usual does not mean that the game itself is going to release 8-12 months earlier. That would defeat the entire purpose. So I would expect a relatively normal announcement > dev diaries > release schedule that we are accustomed to.

I don't mind if they don't produce DLCs, after all I've multiple times stated that I'm against the whole DLC model. But I'm not saying I wouldn't have some interest if they did release something. What's needed is bugfixes, and they of course should be free, not part of a DLC. Also QoL updates wouldn't be bad, and no DLC required for them either.

The only reason that I can think of is that there will be some major announcement soon indeed and PDX wants to be first, instead of a content creator spoiling "there will be a major announcement next week WOOHOOO!!!"

Is there a chance there will be another such meeting in Sitges very soon and a way to very quickly create a youtube channel with at least 20k subscribers, with poor English, bad voice and no camera?
