Crusader Kings 2 - 2.8.1.1 (ISRM)

Not sure what other information is worth passing along.

Moved to the right forum.

This is not at all a known problem with the game. This does not happen in Windowed mode at all?

Does it happen immediately after you start a new game? Or only if you have been playing for a while?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

It was immediately repeatable for me twice upon launch of the game, the first time it happened after playing for 4+ hours no problem. Then I alt+tabbed to look something up for my wife, and going back in triggered it. Playing in Borderless Windowed mode appears to completely alleviate the problem, but playing in fullscreen I can pretty much just trigger it to occur by following the steps outlined above.

What if you go back into the game with alt-tab also, instead of this?

There's a slightly newer video driver for you:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Edit that settings.txt to say:
refreshRate=60
fullScreen=yes
borderless=no

If that doesn't help, Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 30 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

I edited the settings.txt and tried to recreate the issue, but it didn't happen again. So maybe it's resolved? Or just something weird going on for that particular day. I hadn't tried the scenario that triggered that to occur previously, and trying it again this morning before editing settings.txt didn't cause it to reoccur.

Temps aren't an issue, idle is CPU 31C, GPU 39C, peak reached while gaming in CK2 for an hour was CPU 62C, GPU 69C.

If I'm able to trigger it to happen again, I'll post another reply.
