Hi, the only time frame not covered by a paradox game is 1945-2...... When stellaris starts.

Don't you think that the cold war and the recent pre sent would be very nice to play? And paradox will cover all history.

The problem with such a game is how controversial political discussions can be, the closer to today we get.... even more than HoI4 discussions, in a sense.

Then let's not get closer to "today" by PDX making a Cold War grand strategy game which starts in 1946 and ends in 1991, like East vs West (once approved by PDX for development) originally intended. Problem solved: it wasn't a problem then, therefore it shouldn't be a problem now.

Actually, stopping it at 1991 still makes it come very close to today (that's why i said "the closer to today"... not just referring to "today").

Also, there is a difference between a game published by Paradox and a game developped by Paradox... doesn't have the sqame weight.

Supreme Ruler: Cold War: developed by BattleGoat Studios, published by Paradox Interactive in 2011. Campaign begins in the late forties and lasts until the early nineties. Still available on Steam, no controversy has been reported to this date.

Supreme Ruler Ultimate: developed by BattleGoat Studios, published by BattleGoat Studios in 2014. Campaign begins prior to WWI and lasts well into the future. Still available on Steam, no controversy has been reported to this date (despite having Supreme Ruler Trump Rising DLC, which was removed following the last elections in the US, and "Are We Great Yet" sandbox (in short: American Civil War II)).

Realpolitiks II: developed by Jujubee S.A., published by 1C Entertainment in 2021. Campaign begins "today" and lasts well into the future. Available on Steam, no controversy has been reported to this date (despite making puns of real politicians in its ads).

Please explain how these companies got away with it and why PDX will not be able to do the same.
