Getting kind of agitated here, i have tried the known issues fixes and ran as administrator, but it still crashes after i press play and it loads up to a black screen for a second then crashes. i also reinstalled the game to no avail

Any help would be appreciated
 
please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload). Also open setup.log, search for "checksum", and paste that line only in here.

well i fixed the problem with help from thador by doin this
So, this didn't work for me as originally explained (Going into properties and forcing 640 x 480) but what did work was:

Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II
and open the Settings.txt file.
Change the size to x=640 y=480, save, and then run the ck2.exe file
Manually change the resolution and restart using Steam.

This is what worked for me. Good luck!

I have the same problem, i get the sound of the game but no screen and an instant error msg " just the regular one "

I have no settings file inside any of the Crusader Kings 2 map?????

This feels like the same problem i had with Legend of grimrock in wich i had to play in windowed mode. On their forums the problem was involved with browsers.

This is nothing to do with browsers, I promise you.

If you believe you have the same problem as the OP, did you try the same fix? Can you provide the same information I asked him for? If not then you presumably have a different problem, if so them please start your own fresh thread with FULL problem and system information, thank you.
