I just re-installed the game from steam.
The game start just fine and I get to the menu.
Every buttons works but when I want to start tutorial or a campain, the game crash.
My windows is windows 7 64bits.
I have a good video card with latest dirvers (EVGA GTX 570) and lot's of ram (8 gigs).
I also have a good cpu (i7)
My windows is in french but basically the error says that the path for eastindia.exe have a problem.
I can go pĥysically to that path and start the game from there but get the same problem...
When I bought the game in 2009 it was working fine with my computer then (upgraded all 3, cpu, memory and video card, since then)

Here is the message I get in my windows event journal:
Nom de l’application défaillante eastindia.exe, version : 1.0.0.9933, horodatage : 0x4b0bd9da

Thank you for trying to help

I tried this and it didn't fixed my problem:

2. Aero theme is in conflict with the application.
- Locate the game installation directory and right click on the eastindia.exe and select properties.
Select compability tab and check the disable visual themes checkbox. click ok and start the game.

And my DEP (Data execution prevention) have the first button checked.

I believe it could be because when i first installed it, i was on windows XP and now I'm using windows 7 64bit?
Maybe some how something remained of my first installation that is making the game crash?

Just so you know after reading a similar post of someone else that had a french version with DC I though it might have something to do with the french language of the game and designer's cut version. When I bought the game in 2009 i don't remember buying the designer's cut so it must of been one of the patches that added that. Anyways I downloaded (installed from steam) the Pirate Bay expension. It came with it when I purchased the game but I never installed it before.
I launched it and it was working fine (and it was in english).
I then closed it and tried the designer's cut and it became english too and was working.
