Game crashes 2 seconds after launch

So after not having played the game/mod for a long time, I decided to give it another go.

Installed CK2 & AGOT v1.0 on a laptop that's never had either on it, but every time I try to launch AGOT, it launches into the boot screen with the stamp and AGOT, then it crashes after a second or two.

What could be the problem?

Sometimes (even with my i7 HP envy) the game just does this. Usually I just wait like a minute then relaunch it and then its fine.

I get the same problem but after I make my Lord it crashes after a ingame day or two. Is this a common issue? Im playing on a Mac
