We don't see any errors or problems in that log; the game starts up okay, then exits as if you'd asked it to.

Has it ever worked on this machine? Or never yet?

If it used to work, what change or update seemed to trigger the problem?

It works on my Windows, I have dual boot - was trying to migrate to Linux but has not worked on Linux thus far

If you delete that player.log then try the game again, does it make a new one?

In Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Yes it created a new PLayer.log, I attached it. I also noticed Steam seems to be opening and closing while the loading bar is going and everything else slows to a crawl. When it ultimately crashes it also closes all my other apps.

A bit different this time: the log just stops, it does not show the game exiting.

Intel video systems are not supported hardware for this game, but I doubt that is the issue here. Instead my guess is this is a Steam issue, from that general crash you mention now.

I suggest a clean reinstall of Steam and game; I don't have a process for Steam on Linux (I'm sure you can google that as well as I can!), but here's it is for the game:

- Remove the game from Steam (uninstall)
- clean reinstall of Steam
- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

/home/user/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Cities:Skylines
~/.config/unity3d/Colossal Order/Cities_ Skylines/
~/.local/share/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines/
(first move the /saves/ folder elsewhere to keep your save games)

- Install the game again and see if it runs now.

I hope that does it.

Ok I did a clean install of steam, still having the same issues - here is the new Player.log. I did do it from copied over Cities Skylines install files from my Windows machine - could that be the issue? Does it need to be a completely clean install?

That method of installing has not been tested, so yes please - do a clean install via Steam!

Same issue, though I just uninstalled and reinstalled skylines - I can try a completely clean one (new Steam and new skylines) as needed

Still no clues in there as to what is causing this to you, I am sorry.

Looks. like you'll need to try the clean Steam reinstall too!
