So, after fighting a war in china against japan, i pushed all the way to siam. After pretty much invading siam, they sue for peace with the UK, the leader of our alliance. the text bubble comes up saying that peace was declared. I press the "fine" button and the game crashes. Ive reloaded the game at least 3 or 4 times and the same thing has happened. Anyone know a fix to this as i really want to beat japan.

*EDIT*
Read stickies and posting more info.

Hmm... You seem to have a decent enough computer, but I think it's really just a general game thing. Mine does that too and it's from the game having too much on it at one time. Do you have alot of divisions, does the computer?
What year in the game is it? If it's late in the game, it might just be that when a country surrenders - the game drops the ball because it's too heavy. I've had that happen against Russia. I'm not offering a definite explanation, just a theory so don't hold me to it.

i have literally 500 divisions of infantry, tanks, and special forces. The year is '46, as WW2 extended because japan annexed china in 37. i can only imagine the comp also has tons of divisions. However, Japan is the only enemy left. man, i guess this is what i guess for not beating japan early game when they first DOW'd me.

That's way too much for the computer to manage man. It sucks, but it happens when you have too many divisions at one time and then annex a country.

More than likely.

I was playing as Soviet Union. In 1942, U.K. occupied siam and the message appear:

"Siam accepted peace offer."

I clicked "fine" button than CTD, I tried again and again, game always ctd

It's one of the larger flaws in the design of this game.

Sometimes it just can't handle all of those units at once, and then be put under the stress of annexation.

It's just a thing. Can't help it.

Try deleting some of your units before the annexation to relieve stress on the game.

I was Soviet Union and I had only 220 divisions to fight Axis (450divisions) and Japans (300 divisions).

Do the problems solve when i buy a new computer which has better cpu?

Probably.

I built a computer to replace my old PIII and I haven't had any issues out of the game from that particular problem yet.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 2.8 GHz processor
4Gb RAM
512 MB GeForce 8500GT
CD-R/RW 56x
DVD-R/RW 24x
Hi-Speed SATA 1 TB Hard Drive
And, a ThermalTake CPU cooling fan max. speed 6900 RPM

Not to boast.
(I love my computer! :D )

On a more serious note, I'd say you'd be able to get by with a high-end Pentium 4 and about 2Gb of RAM.

All the rest shouldn't really matter.

Hmmm.

It doesn't really matter as long as it meets the requirements, really. There are some minor variations, but it shouldn't really matter. Had your computer been running for a while when this happened? If your cpu gets too hot and then you run the annexation through it, it'll just drop the ball. Happens with any game. Are you running a stock fan and hard drive as well?

Take breaks and see if that helps.

If not, try the idea of deleting some of the divisions, so there will be less for the computer to juggle.

If all else fails, it's just plain out simple - it's the game and there's nothing you can do about it.

Ah, I forgot to tell you about HOI3.

Err. The details released so far are somewhat sketchy and don't just believe anything anyone tells you about it. I've heard some very contradictory things about it so far.

But within reason, I'd say that HOI3 will probably support Quad-Core technology, given that it's so popular at the moment. They'd lose too many customers, you know?

I have p4 3.0GHz, 2gb RAM.

Which cpu is best for HoI2 and EU3 and of course HoI3 :) ?

Will HoI3 support quad core cpu's?

If you have a decent video card then this will be fine....

I recommend the 8800 GT .... 512 MB RAM.

Best card for the money (around 100 $ US)
