Game crashes at launch - Steam version, patch 1.05, memory cannot be read

Good afternoon. Can you please assist with my issue? CK2 (Steam version, patch 1.05 just installed) CtDs immediately after launch - the mistake looks as follows:


(it's in Russia.. reads 'Instruction 0x009452e4 addressed memory at address 0x00000000, memory cannot be read')

Crash happens no matter, whether I launch from steam or from ck2.exe Doesn't depend on which DLCs are chosen in the launcher. Local cache verified.

Error.log is empty, setup.log is empty, I attach system.log and settings.txt

that actually sounds bad... try a reinstall and/or move the game to another directory. make sure everything is okay with your hardware. especially RAM and HDD.

Yes, that looks like a bad download. Start by using the Steam client to Verify Integrity of Game Cache, if that doesn't help then a full clean reinstall: uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.
