Game crashes to desktop

I have this problem with HoI, EU II and Victoria, on two different computers!!!! I'm getting MAD!!!!!!!

I start the game, but after max 30 min the game crashes to desktop. No reason, no error at all.

My computers:
- Dell Inspiron 8500 P4 2,4GHz, XP HOME, nVidia Mobile 4200
- AMD Athlon 900, XP PRO, Matrox DualHead 450

I don't have any other problems at all, and my systems is not overheating.

Nothing is logged in the Event log after a crash.

I have Norton AntiVirus on both computers.


Could somebody PLEASE help me????

hmm...kert1987 had similar problem. Are you using DX9.0 or DX8.1 on your computers?

I was running directX 8, i have upgraded to 9 now.

Hope that will solve the problems, but I doubt it...

I'll let you know when I know...

Direct X 9 didnt help at all

Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back.
Set color depth at 16BIT.
Make sure no programs are running in the background, like Virus protection, ICQ/Messanger ...
