Game crashes when game loads!

It appears that the support forum hasn't been visited in a while, so I'm posting this here, but feel free to move it. In 1.04a, I can open up the game, but every time I try to open my one save file or any of the scenarios, my game crashes. This happened maybe 8 times this afternoon...the same cd works fine on another computer...

I don't know why you say the support forum has not been visited in a while.

You would have recieved a faster responce if you had originally posted here, as I often check this forum 6-8 times a day.

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
4) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

I have the same problem acutally.
and I have 16bit color, named it avi_back and uninstalled any messanger, virus protection etc.
It crashes when I load my game.
I've played now all afternoon though and it never crashed once

If it crashes again now that you have made those changes, Keep a copy of the save, reboot and try to load it again.

I didn't mean to insult by not posting here. I renamed the AVI folder, and everything seems to be okay. Thanks for your help

I did it like five times and it didn't help!
I deleted the whole crusader kings folder beacause of my frustration!

damn.. have to install it again

I meant save a copy of the game so I could take a look at it.
