Game crashes when trying to save in Aberration

I've enjoyed Aberration a bunch ever since I downloaded, but lately I've been encountering a weird bug. Every time i try to save a game - any game, any save name, even autosave - the game crashes. When I later try to reload that save I see that it's corrupted (entire system hangs, I need to reboot when I select it). Anyone know how to fix this? Regular EU2 and AGCEEP aren't affected.

This seems to happen to me every so oftain too, so I clean out the save file of all saved games and that seems to fix it.
