So I had a nice city of about 35k citizens, things going smooth and all. II decided it was time to save the game. I get a generic error message when I try to save the game. I try again, same thing. Now I try to save into new save game and the game just freezes over and I have to restart the game.
At this point I notice I'm running low on disk space on drive C:. So instead of giving a warning that I'm out of disk space and can't actually save my games, the game then destroys all of my saved games and my city with it. 8 hours down the drain. Now, I would appriciate if the game actually gave me an option to choose where I want to save my damn saved games and would inform me clearly if I'm out of disk space, instead of just deleting everything I've built in the past day.

The game should check for free disk space before trying to save, OK.

But letting the hard drive fill up to 100%... Very bad practice.

Free advice: Free 20% of your disk capacity, check the filesystem for errors and do a full system defrag.

I'm not complete a twat. I had about 2 gigabytes free disk space, but since I downloaded some Windows Updates and didn't bother to reboot instantly it ate about 1,5gb of my free space and since the pop-up didn't warn me about disk space running out midgame I had no idea I had just lost my back-up space.
I did clear 5 gb more space after that just in case the saved games actually get huge. But still I've never had game literally deleting my saved games. They were completely wiped from my hard drive.

Anyways seems like the saved games reappeared after I started playing with an another city. Instead of being grey in the load game folder they are red in color. Still quite puzzled where they disappeared for a few hours.

Low on disk space in 2015? :p

Anyways, haven't you seen this message?
