I played Victoria fine for the first time I installed it on this computer but I want to play for another session
This time though the game loads very slowly, the music does not play and when it finally does load the top of the screen flashes!
So I try to load my save game and more of the same, sound effects still work but the screen still flashes at the top.

The game used to work but now it doesn't after loading it a second time. I reinstalled it but it still does that same annoying crap!

Try this

1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) If you're using the auto-hide feature of the task bar, disable it.
4) If you have an Explorer window searching for a file or displaying search results, close it.
5) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

98% of flicker problems are caused by other programs running in the background.

Also, alt+tabbing tends to increase screen flicker.

But my game ran perfectly before, without having to close down any of my standard startup programs and virus protection.. the only thing I recently changed that might be the culprit is I changed graphics to 32 bit, but I changed it to 16bit now but it hasn't helped.
The changing of the AVI folder has helped make it load faster but there is still flickers.

Don't even know what Music Mismatch is. I tried to disable my applications but no help. So I tried setting the priority of the game in Task Manager as "Realtime" and now only flicks like every 10 seconds. Though I have to do this every time and if I cannot stop the flicking at the beginning of the load up then my game is ruined and without music. :(
The only thing I changed recently was changing the color to 16bit because EU2 Misson editor told me to and then changing it back to 32 after I was done and now the flickering is happening :((

I've been playing the paradox games fine for a year without having to update my drivers... and it all started last week ><

I know that when I used to ALT-TAB out of EU 2 loading screen the problems I am having now would occur but why does all Paradox games have to have this annoying strain that causes them ALL to flash!
