Hi, I have recently updated my gamersgate version of ckii and have since noticed that the game freezes frequently, about every 30 mins. Some times when it freezes all the UI interfaces disappears but the map still looks normal. Usually an alt-tab to the desktop and back again fixes it. Further more when I zoom in 100% the provences turn black. I have never had any issues with paradox games before. Does anyone have anyone have ideas? Should I simply reinstall?

Are you using any mods? If so, have you turned on the LAA flag?
please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload). Also open setup.log, search for "checksum", and paste that line only in here.

Thanks or you help BjornB and AndrewT. I might do a reinstall and see how it goes. BTW i am not running any mods only the vanilla game sword of Islam & legacy of Rome and a few other minor DLC's.
Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU) 1/ before starting the game up and 2/ after say 20 minutes' play. If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, Google for and install SPEEDFAN.
