Game Freezes machine (sound problem?)

Sounds like you found a bug in an event, check out the bug forum to see if others are having problems. If no one else is then start a new thread here.

You may want to try adjusting the acceleration on your Audio and video cards.

You are on a Pent 4. not the Athlon CPU. It is the Athlon that has the problems.

Not the same at all actually, since your system slowly slows down, then powers the whole system down.

The thing is if the system "locks" that means it is not and will not respond. Therefore it would be impossible for you to save the game etc. Also I have not heard of this problem powering down the PC.

You may have a bad mother board or need your operating system reinstalled. Have you run a virus check?

Well you can try and eliminate things one by one.
If you can borrow another video card you can swap them and see if it makes a difference, the same for sound card.

If the problem persists you can then elliminate those, at that point you would have to look at the power supply and the motherboard.
