Freezes on "paradox interactive screen"... I have left it on there before to see if it would move off and it never loaded after several hours.

FYI never buy a game again to try and fix a technical issue, that will never help. Please seek a refund from one of those stores, preferably Epic I would suggest.

Is it that your freeze is in our launcher, you never get to the game itself?

You can bypass the launcher by following these instructions:

Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
Extract from it cities.bat file
Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
Right click the game in your Steam library
Go to properties
Select Launch Options
Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
X out of that screen
Run the game

Sorry for that problem!

Ah, so not the launcher but the game?

Please gather both these two informational files, and attach them here:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities Skylines\Cities Data\output_log.txt

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Lots of errors just after the Harmony mod loads there.
In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. In the Launch Options line, paste this in there:

-noWorkshop -disableMods

Can you then start and play a new test city?

You can unsubscribe from all mods in the Steam Workshop.
