I haven't found much of changeable graphics speed settings in EU/EU2.
Is there really no changable settings except music on/off and screen resolution? (Per the EU2_Settings.exe utility)
For example, it would be nice to be able to access stuff such as "do no animate sprites", "refresh screen less often to give more time to AI" etc.
If you have a slower machine I'm sure you have experienced that if you try to run the game at a quicker speed, the game simply crashes.
I would say that if there is no (hidden?) game settings of this kind, a machine with my specs is restricted to run the game at the "4 months/minute" speed setting, tops.
Note: When starting a new game, everything runs fin at the "2 years/minute" setting for perhaps 100-150 years. Its when my country has explore much of the rest of the world and discovered most other countries everything slows to a crawl. In that situation I have two choices:
1) Continue as if nothing is wrong.
Result: The game invariably crashes soon enough.
2) Lower game speed.
Result: The game becomes excruciatingly boring (I'm not always at war, where a lower speed is fine)
Of course, I could 3) buy faster rig; but I'd like to point out that my specs are at the "recommended" level. So, I'm just looking for tips on actually making the game playable (throughout) at this level.
