Game has wrong checksum since at least the previous patch

I tried to reinstall the game 5 times, checked file compatibility twice through Steam, always made sure all mods are turned off before starting a game with ironman in mind, now even manually deleted all files in the mod folder, but the game still displays the wrong checksum every time I try to turn it on. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Currently the checksum displayed is QEIC instead of the correct WQTI, but it was also wrong on the previous patch.

Did you delete everything inside Steamapps/common/Crusader Kings 2 manually before reinstalling ?
You should, as auto-uninstall leaves files behind/untouched.

now even manually deleted all files in the mod folder

The checksum is basically only defined by files in the above mentioned game files folder, unless if you load mods along with it of course.
Mods only need to be unchecked/turned off in the launcher, as you did.

Once, and it didn't fix anything, but apparently that was because there were at least two different folders with the game files in them in two completely different places. Now it finally works, thank you.
