Has this game ever worked on this machine? Or never?

Please attach here the game log C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\debug.txt

To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

AND DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

THEN try Safe Mode - does that work?

The game started crashing after the sunset update.

Here's the debug file and the DxDiag file.

The game also crashes in safe mode.

We see some AppHangs in that dxdiag against Prison Architect64.exe , but no crashes as such. There is no problem evident in that debug.txt file though. If you delete it and run the game again, does it get recreated?

Check for an update to that 2020 Intel 5500 video driver from LENOVO support, failing that Intel themselves

Good luck!

I don't know then, we see no clues in those files as to even the general area of the problem.

What happens if you run PrisonArchitect64.exe directly from File Explorer? ANy error show then?

What if you make a new Windows user on this machine and run the game under that? Any different?

Running the game directly from the file explorer ... still results in a crash.
But does any error show when it does?

It is actually crashing, not hanging (as per what we see in dxdiag), is that right?

What antivirus app do you use? Make sure PrisonArchitect64.exe is in all its exceptions lists.
