My buddy cannot connect to my game. I have my firewall accepting, I have others that can join, we both have different serial codes!

i can load the game and all, but anytime i try connecting to another person, thru metaserver or strait ip, i get game not found everytime, i already tried forwarding the ports as listed 1630 to 1641 and still a no go 
Have you both applied the new patch? It fixes some causes of this. If that doesn't help, you must still have a firewall problem, or are using the wrong IP address.
My friend and I are also having this issue, and we were able to play together before the update the other day.
If by "serial codes" you mean checksums, that's your problem - they must be the same.
checksums are correct, and we also use to be able to play together before the patch. now we can not. dont know what else to try, we even tryied with firewalls down.
ok, rechecked and modified my router settings, using a netopia router/modem, so its a pain , but was able to connect to someone with a steam account game, before i crashed with a error, dont recall exactly the error, but will post if i get it again. will try and find someone with a gamers gate game to connect to now.
ok, i still cant connect to my friends that are using gamersgate games, yet all of them can connect np. i tryied both ip and metaserver, the only way i was able to connect to one of them was using a vpn. such as hamachi. i double checked everything, i am totally lost at what it could be. but i am using a netopia 3347 router, if that is any help.
i am able to connect to some people, only one i know for sure had a game from steam, all the ones i know for sure have gamergate games like me, i can not connect to. very strange.
The checksums must match, but they should since both versions are identical.
If it works with hamachi, it might be because of a slow connection somewhere.
as of now, i have noticed everyone i do connect to on the metaserver is running a steam version of the game, everyone i know i can not connect to on the metaserver and direct ip is running the gamersgate version, i have ran into a few on the metaserver who has also have the same problem. a friend and i was finally able to play one game together because we found someone on the metaserver who was hosting a game, he had a steam version, that we both could join, we played fine for hours and i had no connection problems, a few others have durring the game, but we did have 12 players in the game from start. Normally my friends and i can not connect except thru hamachi and we all are running gamersgate versions of the game, they can connect fine, but i can not connect to any of them, keep getting game not found.
Ok, as of know i did a total system overhaul. i checked all hardwear and everything , reinstalled windows and downloaded and installed all the lastest drivers. except one, i have 2 nvidia 9600gt in sli. and the latest patch that just came out constantly freezes system, that is an nvidia problem i am 100% sure. after finally getting lastest graphic drivers i can use, i reinstalled all games and patches. so i have a totally clean install of everything. Hoping this will fix my problem of game not found on games hosted with gamergate copies. i have yet to find anyone on the metaverse atm and my friends are unavailable atm, so i will post a update when i can.
OK, did 2 test connections now, and still same problems, i can connect to host that run a steam version of the game, and still can not connect to a host that is running a gamersgate version.

OK, Fixed the problem this morning, and the funny thing was, all i did today was update my bios, which i was lucky to find. and now everything works as advertised.
