game not updating?

Hi all:
I am having an annoying CTD problem. I attempted to install the patch (1.09) but the version continues to indicate 1.00 on the opening page.
How can I tell if the patch is installed?

If it still says 1.00 then it has certainly not installed.

You did execute the patch after downloading it? Merely downloading it does not install it.

If you did that OK, then the problem is likely that there are remnants of old install paths still in the machine's registry. Follow the uninstall instructions to completely wipe the game from your machine (copy any valued saves elsewhere first), reinstall the game then install 1.09 immediately.
