im the high lord of white harbour, vassal to the LP of the north, who is a vassal of the kingdome of the Trident, my wife is the LP of the vale, we finally have had a son yet he wont inherit my titles, it just completly skips over him to every other member of the family, ive tried killing off all my family the game acts like hes not of my dynasty, and the crown laws in both the kingdom of the trident ( my supreme lord ) and the LP of the vale are at the lowest, i dont know what to do, this is stressing me out HELP !!

oh and it happens to whatever child of mine is set to inherit the LP of the vale, not just my son i tried killing him to see if my daughter would inherit both lands and it just skips her too,

This has happened to me a few times. First a few checks: succession laws are the same for both titles? You have a regular marriage? Crown authority is lower than high in the Riverlands(possibly the Vale too depending on its de jure status, check this by typing charinfo 1, then play (charid of a landed character in the vale).)

If these are OK restart the game. This normally fixes it for me. If it doesn't when you reenter the game let it run for a few days then type recalc_succ into the console.

If the checks are correct and these don't work for you I don't know what's going on.

A work around: when your wife dies give the title to your son manually using the give_title console command

ya the succession laws are at the lowest in both regions, and its regular marriage, but ill try that recalc_succ what does it do? im starting to think this game doesnt let titles drift into other realms

It does, at least when I played as king of the Rock in the bloody years start date. I inherited the mountain and vale through marriage.

I've never suffered from it, but I've seen my heir switch a few times under similar circumstances.

I'm pretty sure it's a known bug, for a long time. And it's something to do with your heir being in a different realm.

so ive learned what happens finally, it appears as though since i was a vassal to the LP who was a vassal of a king my lands simply werent allowed to drift from the realm, but i recently got my independence from the LP and now serve the king directly and my son is now my heir, hope this helps anyone else in the future with a problem like this,
it seems you have to be independent for your realm to be inherited by someone else from another realm

Is there any sort of solution or work around for this bug?

Every time one of my heirs nears maturity, they are suddenly disinherited and a younger son becomes heir. It's happened three times now and to be honest it's making me not want to play any further; it's incredibly frustrating. Recacl_succ seems to do nothing; it would be useful if there was an event that could be fired to appoint an heir at least as a work around.
