Not really sure what you are talking about.
Maybe snap a screen shot and post it here.

There are some things you can change.
Match the game res to the desktop res.
Play with 16BIT color.
make sure display size is set to 96DPI
and Font size is set to normal.
Make sure you do not have extended desktop select, that is where your desk top res is actually bigger than your monitor res so that you can scroll around the desktop.
 
It could just be a case of you needing to adjust the size of the picture.
You can usually access this through the menu system on your monitor.

What happened when you adjusted the monitor controls?
