game slows down

Hi,
doomsday or hoi2 slowdown to a crawl after 1940,
specs
amd 64 3200+
win 2000 sp4
1gb ram ddr 400 dual channel

i have only essencial services running and 11 processes running on the background, so i have plenty of ram and processor. the only way i can speed up the game i going on world conquest with germany and anex every1.

in hoi1 i dont have such problems.
is there a fix to this?

Apparantly noone has found a fix for this yet. I have the exact same problem myself.
However, you may want to try jpd's FAQ on the subject in the Victoria Support forum. This appears to work for some.
Otherwise, check out the "Doomsday performance issue" thread by Smaxiboy for what information is available.
