Hello,

Since the two content creator pack released (and the game had it's update), the game crash at launch. The "bug report" is bugged and cannot send it's report.

My pilots are updated, I have no mods activated, I restarted my computer and I am not trying to open an old save.
From what I saw from other users, I am not alone.

I have exactly the same issue, yesterday, the game running good and today, when I launch the game, it crash after like 10 sec before loading paintings. Can't send the crash report cause he is bug too. Tried to reinstall twice, no cloud for steam save, delete all previous save, still can't play the game. Some friends have it and some friends can play. I just tried with an older version, 1.14.1 and it worked fine.

For those following the thread and needing a workaround : AVAST was the problem. You need to create an exception.

For the dev's : I think you will want to come with a more stable solution for everyone.

Thanks for the update! Please report the false positive to Avast, it is up to them to not block our game.
 
Does everyone else in this thread also have Avast?
 
Thanks so much! you saved me a bunch of time uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have the game on steam so I just put the game folder that was in the steam apps folder into avast exceptions and voila!
 
I have the same issue. Crashes after about 10 seconds.
Do not have avast.
I've added as exceptions for AVG but no luck.
Then you will have an unrelated problem.

Did this only happen after 1.14.3 was applied?

Any mods in use?
 
I just tried rolling back to 1.12.5 and still crashed instantly.

I had it working the day of the update but it has gotten worst since then.

It is indepentent of any of the mods I use, the base game crashes too.
 
Yes this was only since the update, everything working fine until then.

No mods used at all. Just various dlc's.

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.txt

I'm not sure who you are replying to here. Did you find it was your antivirus app getting in the way, as others here have? At least Norton's , Avast, and possibly Sophos and AVG and Kaspersky, have caused problems with the ck3.exe in the 1.14.3 patch.

I'm surprised the game ever ran on this PC! That Intel UHD Graphics system is WAY below the published minimum requirement:
  • Graphics: Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 660 (2GB) / AMD® Radeon™ HD 7870 (2GB) / Intel® Iris Pro™ 580 / Intel® Iris® Plus G7 / AMD® Radeon™ Vega 11
It may be the new game version is fussier about the hardware meeting the minimus than previous game versions were. You can test that by reverting to 1.14.2 in the Steam Betas tab for the game, does that help?

Also you could change this cap to 60hz:
