Game will not start after Install

I have Windows XP all patched up with a 1.6 GHZ Athlon Dual Core and 3GB of RAM and the GeForce 9500GT with a 1GB of Video RAM...the issue is that everytime I want to play this game it fails to start...a Microsoft Error Window pops up and states:

eastindia.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have set up a DEP check Box under the Advanced tab in the System settings but still am having issues.

Help Please I would really like to enjoy this game.

Please update your gfx card drivers to the latest version.

Elsewhere I saw you saying that when clicking the game icon tens of times the game sometimes starts. The game won't start if another eastindia.exe process is already running (or jamming) in the background. Please use Windows Task Manager to kill any existing eastindia.exe before trying to start the game.

Also, please try to disable videos by editing the My Documents\East India Company\Config\options.txt and changing the "video_enabled = 1" to "video_enabled = 0". If that doesn't work, try to rename whole "My Documents\East India Company" folder to something else and see if the game starts then.

Sorry about the delay, we're investigating this. You've posted two different logfiles and somewhere you said that the game does start sometimes. Is the second logfile when the game did start and the first when it crashed? Please try with the demo version, does it work?

The Demo version works just fine...in fact it works better than the store bought version. That is when the store bought version works, which is once a month at best. Now that we have established that the Demo version works I await more instructions. If there is to be more testing I was hoping that you would send me a complete list of tests so I don't have to wait three days between responses.

Hi! Sorry about the delay. Problem is strange, you're the only one having reported this kind of issue. Which virus scanner and firewall do you use? Maybe you have some software running which interferes somehow with the game. Try to close as many programs running in the background as you can. Please PM me the output from dxdiag if that reveals something.
