I click play and on the side it says "syncing" and then nothing happens and nothing opens. Steam says I'm playing Crusader Kings II for a few moments after I click play but after the "syncing" goes away, it no longer says I'm playing anything. I got a fresh Harddrive so could there be something I need to install? Other games work.

Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\ _CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\ and run dxsetup.exe
Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\ _CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\ and run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe

Also if you have installed a gaming VPN app called Evolve, or the MSI Gaming App, disable it as it clashes with this game.

I have the same issue and running the above 3 executables has not helped. Also the documents\paradox interactive\crusader kings ii\logs\ directory is empty.
What antivirus do you use? I was using one at the time that was blocking the game from accessing it's own files, I've since uninstalled the antivirus so I forget the name of it.
