I have the King Arthur Collection from GamersGate. When I try to install it it fails during 'Installing System Components' for Steam Setup. Why is my GamersGate version trying to do anything at all with Steam?

Ugh. It took 2 hours to download from Gamersgate only to have it attempt the Steam stuff. So I found the activation code for the game and added it to Steam and it worked, but now I have to wait another 2 hours for it to download from Steam. I should've left my original GG installation installed from when I bought it instead of deleting!

I feel your pain Finarfin, but it's worth the aggravation. Without the latest update, the game was basically unplayable to me. Much as I'd prefer to avoid the whole Steam scene, it's just not possible to do anymore. I hate it for Gamersgate, but before I buy a game from them, I have to confirm that I will be able to get that game updated as needed.
