Just wanted to share an interesting initiative that we are supporting with games for the funders!

Cheers,

"We need to change the conversation around games…
Too often do we spend our time defending games: simply talking about "why games aren't bad", when what we should be discussing is "what good games can do". This keeps us in a perpetual cycle of talking heads on TV discussing games as 'murder simulators' or decrying the "harm" they do... we've been having this conversation since 60 Minutes covered Death Race in the 1970's,

It's time we talk about all the things games can do for us as a scientific, cultural, artistic and educational medium instead. It's better for society, it's better for creators and it's better for players.
But to do that we need to really open up communication between people in the games industry and those who help shape the laws around it, we also need to facilitate more 'games for good' getting made, so when someone asks why video games matter we have example after example to point to.

I'm going to take the next year of my life to try to do this. I'm going to roll back all my other activities, outside of Extra Credits, and see if I can start to change the conversation around games.
I'll be flying to Washington, speaking with grant organizations around the world, and working with the Global Game Jam people to get together game jams to give people a venue to experiment with their ideas. I'll be reaching out to every media outlet I can and having the dialog wherever I can because I don't want my nieces and nephews to grow up and have to fight this fight. I don't want them to have to be embarrassed about their hobby or live in a world that misses out on all the good games can do because we never really tried to change the conversation.

So please, even if you can't give financially, if you are connected to a grant organization or politician, a media outlet or a studio making games for good, a university working on studying games or even producing them, please contact us at gamesforgoodfund@gmail.com.

Together we can do this. "

After propagating such an EU4 campaign where journalists want to kill one another...
Just don't tell them what happens when you let people play EU4 or any other PDS game for that matter, on LAN!!!
Or it is going to be FUBAR before anything started, no small thx to you guys. :D

A lot of the public image of games as bad only highlight the worst as it is those games which attracts media attention. If people say something enough some people believe it to be true, In Britain the government is trying to reform the exams because they claim it is getting to easy when in actual fact people are being educated better. The only places in the media where I find this talk of games for a better society is on the internet on game websites where a lot of people see games as "Murdering simulators" never visit so they only receive one side of the argument.

This guy is really serious?

And he really received nearly £30,000? He really offers a diner with him for $1,000?

Hey gals!

I just want to say it's such a horrible thing to have so small ink cartridge in our fountain pens! Does anybody never experienced an ink shortage during an exam, or even worst: a pool of it on the paper?
We should explain that to these crazy guys who make these fountain pens!
Just fund my crusade for longer cartridges and pens!

For $100 Elfryc will send you a list of the longest pen he could find in the world.
For $500 Elfryc allows you to ask him a question.
For $1,000 Elfryc sends you a signed copy of his own fountain pen. AND! you'll appear on the golden book, yeah!
For $3,000 Elfryc permits you to spend one week with him, in his own flat, and to eat these excellent pizzas that are sold here.
And for $10,000, Elfryc comes for two months (July 1st to August 31st) in your home and will spend half a day in your empty school or college or office to explain teachers and boss why they should very seriously ask longer fountain pens to the builders.

And guess what? If you're a girl and lives in a country Elfryc never visited, the price may be downed to $4,000. Wo wo wo, Regina! I guess you're well top of the list!
