Hello, while I think the updates to the make the gang segregation more strict are great and would have worked wonders in my old prison when I assumed the gang segregation would work this way (was closed due to gang related massacres), they have somewhat broken my newest prison which operated under the "old rules".

I am building an island prison and as such don't have a lot of space to make dedicated gang units separate from my general population. My current system worked by manually assigning all gang members to max which is specifically designated while my main building has shared cells. By marking the max unit for gangs and the main building for ex gang members, maximum security would fill with gang members and unaffiliated prisoners, while those who chose to leave their gang would automatically get filtered back into the main building marked "ex-gang." So far my system works flawlessly 187 days in or until this update dropped. I have 17 ex gang members that chilled with my general population while the gang members and other dangerous inmates were more or less relegated to max.

Now... anyone unaffiliated with a gang is basically screwed and I have no way of controlling my gang population versus my maximum security. I guess what I will have to do is manually de-level all ex-gang members, but what I would suggest is adding a 5th option to the gang segregation menu that would allow general population to co-mingle with ex-gang / gang members. You are basically limiting players to creating separate cell blocks for gangs and ex-gang members when clearly there are alternative solutions.

TO SUMMARIZE: I realize that the solution for me here is to simply not use gang segregation anymore, but having the system do some of the legwork for me so I didn't need to constantly check up on who was leaving their gang was very nice. I saw it as more of a way to keep gang and ex-gang separate from each other, not keeping gang affiliated inmates separate from everyone else.
