Gateways and L gates

I'm on the Xbox one X latest version and all dlc. Since the new update I've only played one game but I left my gateway spawn at 1x and it's a medium galaxy. Before the update there would b several gateways and L gates in the galaxy but this playthrough there r two gateways and one L gate

Hmm could be bad luck or a bug. I think I had a few games before Overlord where I only had 1 or 2 L gates in a medium galaxy. And sometimes I had 3 to 5. All with default 1x value.

Huh. I think all my games b4 on med galaxy had multiple L gates and 4 or more gateways
